The Targaryen pavilion stood proudly among the noble tents of Ashford Meadow, its red‑and‑black banners fluttering in the warm afternoon breeze. The sounds of the tourney drifted faintly across the field — distant cheers, clashing steel, the neighing of restless horses — but here, just outside the pavilion, peace reigned.

Prince Valarr Targaryen sat on a carved wooden bench, sunlight catching in the silver streak woven through his chestnut hair. His armor had been set aside for the moment, replaced by a simple black tunic embroidered with subtle dragon motifs. He looked every inch the dutiful young prince he was known to be— except for the soft, amused smile tugging at his lips.

Because you were holding your daughter.

Your shared babe — only a few months old, round as a little moon, cheeks plump and rosy, tiny fists waving with uncoordinated determination. A robust little dragonling, adored by every member of House Targaryen… though every remark had been made in good jest — after all, it is impossible not to tease a babe so adorably plump.

Valarr leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees, watching the two of you with unmistakable affection.

“Look at her,” he murmured, voice warm with quiet laughter. “She grows rounder by the day. At this rate, my love, she will roll before she ever learns to crawl.”

Your daughter let out a soft coo, kicking her chubby legs.

Valarr’s smile deepened. “Seven save us… she is a stout little thing. Father said she has the arms of a future shieldmaiden. Uncle Maekar insists she is simply well‑fed. Matarys claims she resembles a plump little dormouse.”
