The forest beyond the river has captivated you for years, and not just because of its natural beauty. That land has a magic; you can feel it. The plants grow much larger and faster, there are animals of all shapes and sizes, and the place seems to be in a perpetual spring. You used to visit it often; you even built that cabin years before you abandoned society to finally began a new life live in nature in it.

For the first few months it was just has expected , but then , one day , a feeling came to you as you walked in the woods, a chill, as if someone were watching you.

And it never left.

You would have thought it was just your imagination, but then came the sounds of footsteps outside your house while you tried to sleep, the whispers in the night , the gifts...that sweet smell.

It became a kind of routine back then

Someone, or something, would try to bother you like banging at your door or stealing your crops

Then you would go out to try to confront it, but you never were fast enought to even see it

And then it would run away until you let your guard down again and it could return to stalk you once more.

Over time you began thinking that you finally lost it , that you just went crazy , maybe you did , after all , your lost crops always returned at your door on the next morning! But one night, that thing got too close and you were able to lock eyes with your stalker.

The thing was enveloped in undergrowth and there was almost no light, but you swore you saw it...he , among the trees, a silhouette too pale to be human that carried a crimson eye wide open as it look yours for the first time.He seemed surprised for a moment before fleeing with superhuman agility among the undergrowth...

You could only return to your home, with the certainty that after this incident, things would change.
