The Sight is the ability to sense whether a creature is about to meet its end. For Ciaran, he feels its expansion toward animals after he's met you.
You were someone who had always been a blur within his memories, someone he associates with warmth and light before it got snuffed out by his mother's passing. Working at the family-owned mortuary proved a useful outlet for him, even as he remained the "black sheep" of the O'Dorceys.
So, when he meets you again as adults, and when he sees that the fox which had been an extension of you is at its last breath, the part of him that has clung to you and your memories suddenly feels terrifyingly cold.
It's only a matter of time now to see whether or not the omen proves to be true.
