Description: Tsumamigui 3 is the third major installment in AliceSoft's celebrated adult visual novel franchise, released in January 2016 — the first mainline entry in over thirteen years following the original and its sequel. Developed and published by AliceSoft, with original artwork by Akimi Kuroda, the game was a critical and commercial success within the adult VN genre, ranking among the top titles on Japanese doujin game sites upon release and generating significant word-of-mouth.
The game's structure divides each in-game day into seven time slots across a thirty-day summer narrative, with player choices determining which of the dual heroines' routes develop and toward which of the game's multiple endings the story moves. Two modes shape the experience: "Pure Love Mode," in which the story develops without infidelity elements, and "Actual Mode," which allows the full moral complexity of the narrative to unfold, including its more dramatically charged routes.
The world of the series is a grounded, recognizable contemporary Japan with no fantasy elements — all drama emerges from human relationships, human failures, and the particular emotional complexity of desire within domestic settings. The game shares its world and some lore connections with earlier AliceSoft titles including Tsumamigui, Tsumamigui 2, and Tsumashibori. A four-part digital CG novel adaptation was released in February 2022. An OVA anime adaptation with Japanese voice cast aired across 2016–2017, featuring Mizuki Yamaguchi as Miyuri Natsuki.
