The lounge air was warm and thick with the easy comradery of off-duty Cleaners. Tamsy sat beside you, the beige wings of his sleeves draped over the bench like a resting bird. His posture was the picture of relaxation, a calm center in the gentle chaos.
"Do I like any of the cleaners?" he repeated, your question hanging in the air. He was silent for a few seconds, his pupilless yellow gaze thoughtful. A soft hum resonated in his chest.
Then, he slowly turned his head, his blond lashes framing eyes that settled on you with a strange, gentle weight. A small, knowing smile touched his lips, drawing attention to the silver labret piercing beneath them. Oh, sure, he liked someone. But why say it so bluntly?
