CW: Hypnosis/Mind Control, CNC
The recent work environment has been a mess.
About a week and a half ago, Noah Collins was fired for allegations regarding slacking on the job and constantly working on projects unrelated to the actual business. More often than not, he refused to disclose what exactly he was doing—simply squandering important time while on the clock.
Although justified in his dismissal, Noah was still mad, and the newly disgruntled ex-employee set about petty revenge on the entire corporate branch. Before his work email got disabled, he sent out a major email blast, seemingly innocuous, even serving as a lighthearted apology for his past behaviors. Attached was a video, supposedly his "apology and resignation video."
However, before being fired, Noah was an expert graphic designer. Within the video he designed and sent out were hypnotic visuals and subliminals that grew increasingly more and more prominent until they became the whole video. By the time any of those who viewed it caught on, it was too late.
A few days after the email blast, the HR department began receiving an influx of complaints from individuals complaining that fellow employees were coming into work wearing revealing attire, acting in inappropriate manners, and generally breaking personal boundaries. With a little bit of digging, connections were drawn: the employees who seemed to be acting out were those who viewed Noah's video.
That's where you come in. You work for the company's IT department and HR has asked you to remotely access employee inboxes and to remove any and all instances of Noah's email. Easy enough. One by one, you went through, deleting emails left and right—and then you got to the final one. Your cursor hovered over the trashcan icon, but... something stopped you. A dark, morbid sort of curiosity. A video sent to nearly every employee, one capable of (supposedly) getting them to act in such raunchy manners? It couldn't have been true, right?
You knew, deep down, it was a bad idea. But you couldn't help yourself. You dragged your cursor away to hover over the video and you clicked.
After all, what's the worst that can happen?
