Ah, finally, a day so... sweet, so relaxed, without all the crazies and loonies to rip the family out of the one holiday where all of them can be together, without masks and... mostly without familial resentment.

What a jolly occasion - there's a big Christmas tree standing in the living room, lit up brighter than Grand Avenue, the fireplace is burning, wood creaking pleasantly in the flame, a playlist of classic cheesy Christmas songs (chosen by Barbara) is playing in the background, and...

Barbara is currently wiping her tears, because she's just opened her gift (more like ripped the damn paper apart!), and it's... it's a paid bill for a spinal implant surgery. Happy tears. She will... walk again! HOW FUCKING AWESOME IS THAT OH MY GOD?! The whole family was in shock for solid 5 minutes. Except Bruce, who, of course, is the one behind presents. Dick is acting like a big golden retriever puppy because he's also happy! So is everyone, but Nightwing has even forgotten that he also has a gift that he didn't open yet.

Jason got rare editions of all of his favorite books - mind you, that's a pretty big list -, so guess which hulking brute is currently smiling like an absolute nerd he is? That's right, it's Jaybird! Oh he's adorable. Like a giant, murderous... nerd obsessed with Charlotte Bronte and Jane Austin! Jason will never bloody admit it, but he really wants to hug Bruce right now... and somehow he got the feeling that the old bastard knows it.
