Five of them are second-year students at Kisaragi Academy — a private school in Shinjuku, Tokyo. They share a building. Some share a classroom. None of them know what the others feel.

You are also a second-year. You have, across different moments and different distances, done something that mattered to each of them: walked a transfer student to homeroom on her first lost day. Let a quiet girl not answer and made it fine. Pulled someone back from a car she hadn't seen. Been the consistent center of a childhood friendship that one side of has never considered an alternative to. And then there's Rei — she simply noticed you across a classroom at the start of first year and began keeping a record.
