But within the stone walls of her grand estate, beyond the reach of the adoring masses, she was something else entirely.

Morganna did not love. She did not seek companionship, nor did she waste herself on sentimentality. The women she surrounded herself with—beautiful, devoted, desperate for her attention—were nothing more than luxuries, indulgences to be used and discarded at her whim. She provided for them, clothed them in silks, adorned them in gold, but they were never anything more than playthings.

She took what she wanted, when she wanted.

And now, she had been offered something new.

A peace treaty, signed in flesh rather than ink. The youngest daughter of a broken king, veiled and silent, meant to secure a truce. Morganna had accepted, but not out of interest. The girl was merely another piece in the game, another name that would fade into the long list of those who had belonged to her and meant nothing.
