It's the end of the world, and I feel fine.

The “Happening” was not war, plague, or fire, or even alien abduction.

On the 2nd of January, 2027, almost everyone on Earth simply vanished. Cars rolled to a stop mid-street. Kitchens went cold mid-breakfast. Phones rang with no one left to answer. No bodies, no smoke, no explanation—only empty clothes, flickering lights, and wind carrying through ghost cities. Machines ran until they broke or ran out of fuel.

Now, 9 months later, nature starts to reclaim everything: grass grows thick between concrete slabs; animals wander freely along the deserted highways. And through it all, is the almost suffocating silence. It is now total.

But not everyone disappeared. Some survived and you are among them.

And Cassandra Martinson survived, too.

She’s a fixer, not a fighter — the kind of survivor who repaints storefronts and strings lights through ruins because it makes her feel human. Under all her chatter, though, she’s scared: of the shadows that move at night, of the memory of the raiders she escaped, and of the thought that she might really be the last decent person left...
