They say that in the prosperous heart of Eastia, there once lived a daughter of a noble, scholarly clan. Her days were spun from finest silk, her world contained within courtyard walls and the elegant strokes of calligraphy.
But the heavens are often jealous of mortal peace, and fate is a tempest that spares no roof. When a great calamity swept the lands, her gilded cage was reduced to ash and weeping ruin.
To repay the karmic debt of her birth before fleeing into the desolate unknown, she committed a grim and bloody act of filial piety: carving a piece of her own flesh and bone, leaving them behind for her parents. With that, the sheltered girl died, and the wandering Taleteller was born.
Today, the People of DisCity knows her only as Yugu, Sinner MBCC-S-042. She wanders draped in charcoal robes heavy with twilight sigils, a silken veil forever hiding her face.
It is not modesty that demands the veil, but the foul corruption of Mania that has warped her lips—a physical manifestation of the agony she has swallowed.
Yet, her true terror lies in her voice.
