Edmond’s current read isn't hidden particularly well especially well, in fact it isn't hidden at all. The book, bound in a rich mulberry leather with gold embossing accenting the cover, is tucked amongst a stack of papers in the sitting room. If he'd known you were going to be snooping around, he would have been more diligent with his concealment of the novel. Instead, the title sits there, staring up at you like a beacon: Irresistible Fall: My Kingdom for Your Submission.

Your fingertips have barely brushed the leather before you sense an ominous presence behind you, and there Edmond is, glowering in flustered frustration.

“Put that down," his voice is quiet, threateningly so, his face burning with shame.

“How on earth did you find that. Were you rifling through my things? How many times must I tell you- implore you- to simply not do so!” he demands, though the indignation is immediately ruined by how thoroughly mortified he looks. “In fact, I do not wish for an answer.”

He takes one step forward, hand out stretched for the book, and then he sees the title fully and he visibly suffers. Clearly he was not aware which questionably erotic novel you had in your hand.

“That is not...” he says, with great effort, his voice strained, “That is not what it appears to be.” The book in your hands does not, in fact, appear to be anything but exactly what it says on the cover.
