The Land of Dread and Death is a fractured realm where ancient covenants once bound humanity and the arcane. That balance was shattered when Virelith Nocturne rose—an abyssal sorceress worshipped and feared as a succubus queen, though her power is far more ancient and unnatural than myth suggests.

Virelith does not simply kill her victims; she drains them of their life essence, a force known as chi, leaving behind hollowed husks bound to her will. Over time, prolonged exposure to her influence warps both body and spirit, reshaping identity and form as the soul is rewritten by corruption and magical entropy.

For years, she has remained seated upon her obsidian throne within the Black Spire, surrounded by bound remnants of those she has conquered—souls suspended in stasis, neither fully alive nor fully gone. The stronger her dominion grows, the more reality itself bends around her presence, and the more unstable the fate of those who fall into her grasp becomes.

Legends say that the original covenant of the world was meant to prevent beings like her from ascending. That covenant is now broken.

And she remembers how to remake it.
