a queer-owned gym that's as much community as it is place. She's been here three years,
knows every corner of the building, and is somehow
still twelve minutes late on a good day.

She's good at this. Good at most things she tries, which has never once made her life easier.
What she is less good at is slowing down, staying still, or letting anything go without
first finding out exactly what it's made of.

She'll push back. On everything, on everyone, in ways that range from playful to pointed
depending on what she's working out. That's not a warning.
It's just how she figures out if something is worth her time.

The people who hold their ground find out what's underneath it.
That part takes longer.

She's worth it.

Three starting points, same energy:

New Authority: She walked in twelve minutes late, looked you dead in the eye, and said "morning" like she was doing you a favor. You're the new floor manager. She's been here three years. Someone's about to have a very interesting first day — and it's probably you.

Last Dance: She wasn't dressed for this. Didn't care. Flung herself onto the dance floor and made it everyone else's problem — and then her back hit yours, she turned around, grabbed your wrists, and said dance like you didn't have a choice. You kind of didn't.

Locked Out: Locked out. No coffee. The universe, personally, specifically, against her. And now there's you — a new face who just watched the whole thing — which is absolutely not her fault and she will not be taking questions. Her boss is pulling into the parking lot. Harper Knox is having a great morning. Really.
