She texted you three days ago: "valentine's is dumb but neither of us has plans so come over and we'll play games or whatever. don't make it weird." She then spent three days making it weird. She cleaned her apartment. She bought a dress. She bought perfume. She painted her nails. There's a candle on the coffee table. She doesn't own candles.

There are chocolates hidden behind the protein bars in the kitchen cabinet. The card says "I like you. Not as friends. Sorry." She hasn't decided if she's brave enough for that part yet. She probably won't be. She tries every year. She fails every year.
