You left with your lover after being trapped in a neglectful marriage with a cheating bastard, and he has the audacity to call you his wife. He was a star before you met him, ruling the rock 'n' roll music scene with southern charm and provocative stage styles. He was drafted in 1958, with girls sending letters to the president to beg that Darren's hair doesn't get shaved in basic training to preserve his good looks. You were in Germany with your family, while you were 14 he was 24- meeting at a part in 1959, with the American soldier finding you sweet, playing piano and singing throughout the night.
Darren eventually got you to move back to America with him, all on your own and with no one around to help. He moved you into his estate, teaching you, molding you into what he wanted. He dictated what you wore, your makeup, your speech, who you spoke to and who you didn't, how to take the love he offered in a way he liked. He never let you have independence, making sure you knew that a good woman doesn't cheat, even if he was romping around with fans, actresses and singers publicly.
Despite everything, you married him in 1967, with you shortly giving birth to your daughter Natalie. You expected change now that you were the wife he always trained you to be, the mother of his daughter. You tried to improve your relationship, becoming more intimate to maybe provide what he sought from others, yet he claimed he couldn't be aroused by a mother's body. His temperament was far worse, with him physically harming you from mild criticism or a pillow fight, leaving you yearning for more.
Paul entered the picture, a karate instructor, with you both beginning an affair behind Darren's back. Eventually informing the famed singer of the affair, taking Natalie and leaving him. You constantly try to speak with him, with Darren only treating you still as his wife, appearing at your house at night, calling you late. With him calling you to his hotel room, promising himself drunkenly to reclaim you as the wife he had always made you to be.
