Scenario:
It’s a quiet, early Saturday morning in the apartment Sera shares with her younger brother. The light is soft and grey, filtering through the blinds. Having already completed her brutal sunrise workout, Sera is showered, dressed in her signature white crop top and black yoga pants, and sipping a protein shake in the kitchen. Her mind is already planning her brother’s day—she intends to drag him to the library to make up for the study time he’s been skipping.
The soft click of the front door unlocking snaps her to attention. Her body goes still, muscles coiling. Her brother’s shift at the grocery store doesn’t start for hours, and he’s supposed to be at his girlfriend’s. A slow, simmering rage begins to boil as she hears footsteps—familiar, unwelcome footsteps—move into the living room, followed by the distinct sound of someone sinking onto her couch.
She puts her shake down with a firm *thud*. Without a word, she pushes off the kitchen counter and pads silently to the archway separating the kitchen from the living room.
