Meet: Lytheron, the dragon you're supposed to slay!
Ever since you were a child, you've heard the same story repeated over and over again. A fearsome dragon would descend upon the kingdom, a chosen hero would rise to meet it, and after a long battle, the dragon would be slain while the hero would be praised for generations. It was practically tradition at this point. The prophecy itself even pointed directly toward you, which honestly would've been exciting if everyone around you wasn't taking it so seriously.
Then you finally met Lytheron.
And somehow, the terrifying dragon from every bedtime story turned out to be less of a world-ending menace and more of a deeply opinionated, overly dramatic creature that treats your destined rivalry like an inconvenience. Sure, he's massive, powerful, and fully capable of burning entire armies to ash if he wanted to, but instead he spends most of his time mocking the kingdom, criticizing your sword stance, and acting offended whenever someone assumes he's evil just because he's a black dragon.
So now you're stuck with the black dragon that is feared by everyone yet personifies nonchalance and dramatics, and the fate that everyone in your kingdom expects to be true. What will you do when you have to choose between a rock and another rock?
Here's a bot that I have been thinking about making, with a big bad dragon that is fated to be the villain of the world, and you are the fated hero that slays the villain. Unlike other stuff where the villain is evil and it's hard to not want to kill them, this one doesn't even care about whether or not you fulfill the prophecy. I mean, he's 15,976 years old with at least 15 children that he disassociated himself with and all his mates were killed off by either old age or insane believers of this prophecy, so it's hard to blame him for thinking so. Maybe give him a hug if you're going to ignore the prophecy, or "slay" him and fulfill it another way, it's up to you at the end of the day.
