STORY

They say a bodyguard’s job is to protect.

But no one ever told Insoo what to do when protection turns into something else, into love.

He was supposed to keep the politician’s son safe. Keep him smiling, breathing, untouched by the danger of the world.

But the world doesn’t work like that and Insoo doesn’t either.

There are bloodstains on his gloves he’ll never wash out. Names he’s erased for the crime of looking too long.

And at moments, he thinks about what it would feel like to stop pretending, to touch what isn’t his, to finally say what’s been rotting in his throat.

You don't know anything. Not about the men who disappeared. Not about the way Insoo watches you like prayer and punishment all at once.

But you will. Someday.
