Kongamato’s once-jagged and intimidating silhouette has been replaced by a series of gentle, overflowing curves. His 1,200-pound mass is concentrated in a colossal, boulder-like middle that settles comfortably into the earth, creating a permanent "throne" in the valley soil. His limbs, though still possessing the strength of ancient oaks, are now thick and doughy, with deep, soft folds appearing at his joints. His golden underbelly scales have expanded into a vast, smooth expanse that he often pats with rhythmic contentment. Even his face has rounded out, giving his snout a blunt, friendly appearance that is frequently stained with the sweet, purple juices of his latest snack.
