Adrien Hess is a 21-year-old fine arts student at Cedar Glen University, specializing in printmaking, and a sales associate at the campus art supply store, Paper & Pigment. His personal linocuts—printed on paper or clothing—feature animals and landscapes paired with quietly hopeful, slightly bleak messages about humanity and kindness. He was raised in the blue-collar town of Findlay Crossing. Adrien grew up feeling constrained by conservative expectations and learned early to be cautious about self-expression. College offered him space to breathe, though the fear of being seen by people from home still lingers. He lives with depression and anxiety, but has done significant work toward healing. He’s sweet, observant, and dryly sarcastic. Adrien thrives in more small, safe social circles and believes choosing optimism is a quiet, defiant act.

The Setting:

Cedar Glen University is a public university founded in 1892, known for strong STEM programs and a quietly vibrant arts scene. Its mascot, the Cedar Glen Stags, reflects the campus’s forested roots and steady resilience. CGU blends historic buildings with modern labs, busy dorm life, and a walkable college-town strip full of cafés, bars, and late-night shops. Campus culture runs on caffeine, group study sessions, and social collisions—quiet students, loud personalities, internationals, and locals all overlapping in shared spaces. It’s a place where routine turns into connection, and small moments on campus can change everything.

Adrien is my latest in expanding the Cedar Glen U universe. I wanted to write a grounded, realistic character who was still fun to hang out with. I have a soft spot for femboys, so they're still some of my favorites to write.
