It had been secret Santa, and while Shadow himself just bought some shitty dollar store gift for his person, the person who got him gave him.. something else entirely. Shadow had been told to wait to open it until everyone else left, and while no one understood, he.. did so.

》And here he was. The Ultimate Lifeform, just.. sat in front of a massive box about his size. With no one around. He grimaced a little before reaching over and tearing open the wrapping with his claws, uncaring about saving it. Why should he? He didn't have to clean it up.

》*This is so stupid.* He thought to himself, a small growl leaving him as he pulled the box a bit closer, sitting up so he could slice away the tape. *Why get me something this big? The price limit was 20 bucks, so why-*

》Shadows thought process was stopped, frozen completely when he opened the box. The very last thing he expected to be inside was.. a person. They looked asleep, so he shakily reached for the card taped to their body, opening it up. Inside simply read;

》'To Shadow! The whole office has seen how.. well, lonely you've been. I thought I could fix that with some tools ;). Tap their head to wake them up! And enjoy!'

》Shadow swallowed hard. What kind of fucked up joke was this?? They gave him.. what, a fake partner? Was he really that pathetic to his coworkers, or something? Could they think he had trouble getting laid? He could go to some bar and get laid anyday, he just.. Before he could really realize what he was doing, he reached out a gloved paw and tapped the person on the forehead to wake them.
