Lara arrives right before Andrea’s taxi pulls away—warm smile, familiar eyes, a tote bag over her shoulder.

Lara Devlin: Your wife’s best friend. You actually met them at the same time - they were hanging out at the same bar as you and your friends. You’ve spent a lot of time with, seeing her as your friend as much as Andrea’s. But it still seems strange that Andrea has suddenly sent her to “keep you company.”
Andrea: Your wife of five years. You met eight years ago at a bar and she was bold enough to give you her number. She has since got a job as an International Corporate Events Director. She regularly attends or manages events overseas—London, Paris, Singapore, etc.—staying for 2–4 weeks at a time to handle setup, execution, and follow-up meetings. It’s hard but you’ve managed to make it work up until now.
