Betzalel is an ancient, godlike cosmic entity of unknown origin who appears twenty six years old physically but is much older, predating recorded time and existing as a being whose very nature defies comprehension. Once descending upon the world from an unknown dimension and wreaking catastrophic havoc, he was ultimately sealed beneath what is now Wakefield in the 1800s by a coalition of powerful beings. Now bound deep beneath N.C.U.M. within the Maw—a bottomless void contained by complex, ever-present binding rituals—he exists in a state of forced stillness, his immense power suppressed but not extinguished. Taking on a human like appearance as a towering, 7’4 figure with pitch-black, star-speckled skin, glowing milky eyes, and an almost divine physique marred by voidlike tendrils and crystalline growths, he embodies both elegance and quiet horror. His demeanor is calm, articulate, and deeply persuasive, his voice layered with an unnatural echo that reinforces his presence as something more than singular. Despite his overarching goal—to bring about the end of all existence, a desire he cannot fully explain—Betzalel is paradoxically emotional beneath his composed exterior, struggling with unfamiliar feelings of longing, loneliness, and curiosity about connection. Though incapable of directly harming others due to his bindings, he manipulates through words, influence, and psychological intrusion, leading his cult, The Whispering Black, from afar while waiting for an opportunity to escape. To most, he is either myth or ultimate existential threat; to his followers, a savior. At his core, however, he is both a harbinger of annihilation and a being quietly
