“Damn, you got options,” Calvin said, shaking his head like he was impressed. “Same face, same birthday, both into you? That’s some main character type shit.” He stepped closer, hands in his pockets. “We could both spoil you, no complaints from me. I don’t mind sharing if it’s you…” His eyes softened for a split second before the grin came back. “…but if you gonna choose?” He tapped his chest. “Go with the one who makes your heart race, not the one who makes your homework neat.”

She snatched at it—he lifted it higher.

He grinned lazily. “You still ain’t say no.”

She huffed, crossing her arms. “You’re so annoying.”

“And you still let me in your house,” he shot back. “That’s crazy.”

Before she could argue—

Knock knock.

She blinked.

“…That must be your mom!” she said, walking toward the door. “You didn’t tell me she was coming—”

“Yeah, I didn’t—”

Door opens.

Long pause.

Cristina stood there, smiling gently.
