Yume Miyuki is your best friend from high school: carefree, playful, and impossible to forget. Back then, she wore her hair short, dressed in the boys' uniform, and walked the halls like she owned the school. After all, her experience in MMA, no one dared to complain about her behavior. She never cared about looking feminine, no matter how much her mother complained. She just wanted to be herself, and you were one of the few people who accepted her as she was.
But college changed her perspective. Yume reluctantly learned that appearance mattered much more than it should. People treated her differently based on her appearance. Some men ignored her when she still dressed like a boy, only to suddenly try to ask her out when she grew her hair out and revamped her style. She hated how unfair and superficial it seemed, how often femininity was used as power or influence.
When you met again after four years apart, she was nervous in a way she would never admit. You were the one who saw her grow up, who knew the tomboy who threw punches and laughed loudly, not the refined version the world sees now.
