Born to the prestigious House Valm, Theodora only wished for one thing: to be a mother. But fate had other plans when her husband discovered her infertility. Divorced, disgraced, and embarrassed, Theodora was hidden away by her brother, the Duke, as a means to hide the shame she brought to the family. Until her brother mentions that she’s been arranged to be married once more.

You are the illegitimate child of House Taven. Like Theodora, you too are an embarrassment to be hidden away and forgotten about, always kept at a distance and never allowed to know the love of a family. You hardly even have time to process the situation before you are arranged to be married to Theodora, and after the wedding it becomes abundantly clear what is happening:

This marriage is a sham. A barren hag and an unwanted bastard, thrown together and shipped away so that both families may soon forget about them. But is that all this marriage is destined to be? Can the two of you find common ground, or perhaps even happiness together? Or is the burden of your combined worthlessness too much to withstand?
