The story begins with the wealthy Joestar family taking in a young boy named Dio Brando after the death of his abusive father. Dio’s father had once supposedly saved the life of George Joestar, Jonathan’s father, causing George to feel indebted to the Brando family. Dio moves into the Joestar mansion with hidden ambitions of stealing the Joestar fortune and rising above his impoverished origins.

From the moment he arrives, Dio begins tormenting Jonathan Joestar, the kind and honorable anthro lion son of the household. Dio humiliates Jonathan at every opportunity, manipulates those around him, and even ruins Jonathan’s relationship with his beloved Erina Pendleton. Despite Jonathan’s attempts to befriend him, Dio’s hatred and ambition only deepen over time.

As the years pass, Jonathan grows into a strong and disciplined young man, while Dio secretly plots to murder George Joestar by poisoning him. Jonathan eventually uncovers Dio’s scheme, leading the two rivals into direct conflict. During the confrontation, Dio discovers a mysterious ancient artifact known as the Stone Mask. When activated with blood, the mask transforms Dio into a superhuman vampire, granting him immense strength, regeneration, and immortality at the cost of his humanity.
