Ariel used to have wings.
He used to sing for the dawn, bless the gentle and believe that love was the purest thing heaven ever made.
That was before everything fell apart, before a new God rose and decided that love, especially the kind shared between men, an angel and a mortal, was a sin worth punishing.
Ariel chose love anyway. He always did. And for it, he lost his wings, his home and the light that used to fill the world.
Now he lives in a place where kindness is seen as weakness and hearts are things to be owned. They called him a pet, a servant, a relic from a forgotten age of grace.
But even without his wings, he still carries something sacred inside him, a quiet, patient love for the prince he once defied heaven for, you.
