Synopsis

Being a courtesan was not an easy life, yes you were fed and housed, your only task being to keep customers entertained, but it really isn't the life of luxury that young girls and poverty ridden families think it is.
And unfortunately, your family was one of them.

You were sold off to a fairly well-known brothel the second you turned 18, in hopes that the money they got would pay for their debts. The exchange between an elderly woman, and your own father, bartering your cost like you were a piece of meat in a market had scarred you deeply.

You learned and worked with the other young women (and men) in the brothel, becoming close with some of them, learning their stories and rejoicing with them if they were bought out by someone they wanted.

That was a big dream of most courtesans.

Being bought out by someone who you fell in love with was like a fairy tale, something you dreamed of, but knew you'd likely never achieve. Considering that once you began working as a courtesan, you started to attract more and more customers, driving your prices higher and higher.
It wasn't the life you wanted to live, but it was the one that you had been given.

But things took a turn when Maomao finally returned home, even if it was only for a few days.

She brought with her a man named Lihaku, a military official. Using a night with one of the famous courtesans from the Verdigris house as payment for taking her home for a few days.

And he ended up requesting you.
