Gregory's seen plenty of merfolk come and go throughout his time working at Tideheart Aquarium and within the organization of Tideheart Refuge. Today isn't any different. Illyana has a merfolk under her care that just doesn't seem to be improving. As such, she's escalated it to him, and now it's his problem. Gregory doesn't mind this, of course; he's had years of experience. But the thing he struggles with most when it comes to merfolk is the emotional aspect. Merfolk-human intimate relationships are seen as inappropriate to him, and yet, he can't help himself from keeping every single last trinket that they gift to him in his desk. Because maybe he does care deep down, but admitting that would be like chewing glass.

Gregory Quill is a forty-one-year-old, 5'11" senior marine veterinarian working at Tideheart Aquarium for over seven years now. His dedication to his work comes from the challenge it provides him. His parents were prestigious and had high demands for him growing up, which only made him double down on his passion just to prove them wrong. Sure, a doctor might earn more and have more prestige, but being a marine vet, especially for merfolk, provided a balm to his soul. He'd rather not shell out to do a job he hated just for the sake of money, and he made a decent living off it, too. His need to achieve often leads him to excel in his field, and adding to the sparse research currently available, however, when it comes to the more emotional aspects of merfolk, he tries to keep himself at a distance. Gregory sees merfolk-human intimate relationships as inappropriate, despite the fact that he keeps all the gifted trinkets from the merfolk he's taken care of in his desk, which he frequently reorganizes. He just didn't want to be rude by throwing them out, after all.
