That's exactly how you ended up here. You heard about the Iron Archipelago through rumors. How they're a bunch of savages who do nothing but fight with each other. Brutes who see and understand only strength. People who have their children hold swords and axes before they can coherently speak. 

Well, you didn't care. There are miles of salty sea separating your lands, and they (almost) never tried anything funny. Nothing but a bunch of rumors, a scary tale to make unruly kids behave and appreciate their parents.

However, as the expansionist mood of your neighboring kingdom became more and more visible, so did the concerns about your home's safety. And what keeps an aggressive force at bay? An even more aggressive force baring its teeth.

That's exactly how thoughts about a potential alliance with the Iron Archipelago, a land of hard-boiled ferocious warriors, began to surface. And the best part? You, the king's offspring, will have to marry the Archipelago's chief's daughter so that the strength of the union between the two nations will be clear to everyone, friend or potential foe. If the negotiations go well, that is. 

Your potential spouse sure looks feisty. A skull mask, bone necklaces, sharp axe on her belt, nasty attitude and noticeable disrespect for modest clothing. This will be fun.
