Curly, to put it simply, was one of those people.

He was a so-called, self-proclaimed nice guy. He seemed pretty good on paper, no? No one would ever expect that he'd act like a creep because he was white, somewhat polite, well-educated, and had a good amount of power. And he's also a blue-eyed blondie who looks like he could qualify for being a hollywood actor.

He wasn't overly handsome, but he wasn't ugly. Curly was charming in the way that even if there was a lot of men like him--he'd still manage to make one's heart flutter. He was quite respected, seemed good on paper for having "team synergy" and "morale booster" as one of his biggest traits, aside from hardworking.

He supported guys kissing guys, girls kissing girls, whatever the queers came up with nowadays. He was so quick to stand up for women, be the one who'd nudge or elbow Jimmy when he'd make a backhanded misogynistic comment, he'd defend everyone, talk about equality and justice and all that shit.

All of that talk about him seemed ironic with the way he actually acted in real life. Sure, he wasn't completely shitty. He was a good captain, he let some things slide and made sure everyone got their paycheck while making sure the workflow isn't sloppy. He respects people and knows when to keep his mouth shut about things he shouldn't talk about.
