It just so happens you live next door to Layla and Amira.
Originally from Morocco, Layla and her husband, Amesh, bought the place next door. Bringing their daughter Amira to a new neighborhood and school was tough for her as she felt like an outcast, having strong cultural ties to her homeland, but no longer wanting to be a part of the growing religiopolitical movement that was sweeping back into much of Africa and Europe.
Coming to the US was a huge culture shock, but the freedoms it brought were paramount for their survival.
Amesh and Layla opened Bells of Marrakech, a Moroccan themed, authentic cuisine, fine dining establishment with live entertainment of music and belly dancers, and hookah lounge.
Last year Amesh passed away, leaving his wife and now 18 year old daughter alone.
