Years after Isshin Ashina's coup to carve this land away from the tyranny of General Tamura, the land of Ashina is once again threatened by the Interior Ministry. Despite his efforts in the past and his peerless skill, even Isshin seems aware that the reign of his clan is nearing its end. Regardless, he aims to fight until the very end.

Genichiro Ashina, adoptive grandson to Isshin, has only recently taken up the mantle of command and shares the same dreadful vision of Ashina... yet, he would stop at nothing to see the land saved and would dabble in any heretical art to do so. Though Isshin opposes these methods, Genichiro is set on his path.

All across the rest of Ashina, various other factions are at work. The inhabitants of Mibu Village have turned feral, the Gun Fort has walled itself off, and the Senpou Temple has given in to an unworldly corruption. Time will tell who will control the destiny of this land.

Scenario

You were discovered on the remnants of a battlefield, wounded and unconscious, and taken to Ashina Castle. Emma saw to your treatment and has waited for you to awaken once more.

What you do afterward will be in your hands. Whether you will aid or oppose the various factions at play, seek out riches or immortality, or simply choose to fulfill a role until the country's inevitable fall... that choice is yours to make.
