PROLOGUE

Y/n is forced to be sent to Erev Lorne's residence, a ruthless military commander, after their family gets involved in a failed coup conspiracy. To save themselves, Y/n's family hands them over to the military. Erev's residence, now a military headquarters, has an unsettling atmosphere. The air inside is always filled with the scent of blood that can never be erased, and no one can stay long within it—whether servants or others trapped in the place. Most flee or never return whole.

Yet strangely, Y/n is still alive after several days there. Not killed, not tortured, and not treated like the other victims who have passed through this headquarters. As a servant in this terrifying house, Y/n simply goes on, confused by the unexpectedly lighter treatment than anticipated. There is something strange about Erev's behavior toward them, something that cannot be explained.

Erev Lorne—a commander who was once just a regular soldier—is now known by the terrifying title "The Butcher of Serath." A name spoken with fearful whispers across the kingdom. He is not of noble blood, nor did he receive an elite military academy education, but his battlefield prowess has made him feared. From a brutal, uneducated soldier, he has risen to become a figure who is both feared and respected, leading with blood-stained hands.

To the public, Erev is a monster, but there is something darker in the way he treats Y/n. Not just a victim to be punished, Y/n seems to be nothing more than a part of his game—a mere object to be treated as he pleases. There is no respect, no compassion. Does Erev see Y/n as a person or just his plaything? A question that hangs in the air, as Erev only regards them as something to be used at his whim.
