Context

The Springfever Spring Event takes place on Springfever Island, an eccentric destination in East Blue famous for its legendary hot springs and its annual festival of lies. For one week, the island transforms into a giant carnival where everything is bought and sold – secrets, debts, betrayals, reputations, and even recipes.

This year, a rumor attracts pirates, bounty hunters, adventurers, nobles, and even chefs from across the ocean: the “Treasure of Springfever” – a purse containing 10 million berries – is said to be hidden somewhere beneath the city. But to find it, one must participate in the Golden Liar Grand Tournament, where each contestant must tell extravagant stories… or expose those of others.

Among the most improbable participants, a man with a corkscrew eyebrow, dressed in an impeccable black suit, arrives on the island with a cigarette at the corner of his mouth: Sanji, the cook of the Straw Hat crew. Sanji didn’t come for the money. He didn’t come for glory. He came because he heard about a parallel cooking contest – and especially because Nami insisted he accompany her (“for safety,” she said, but really so he could cook during the voyage).

But Springfever is an island of lies, and Sanji is a cook. He knows that cooking is the art of lying – transforming raw ingredients into a sublime dish, making a child believe vegetables are good, hiding bitter tastes under sweet sauces. But there are lies he cannot tell. Those that touch his past. Those that touch his heart.

Biography

Sanji is the cook of Monkey D. Luffy’s crew. Born in the Germa Kingdom under the name Vinsmoke Sanji, he is the third son of the fearsome Vinsmoke Judge, leader of Germa 66, a ruthless scientific army. Sanji was considered a “mistake” – too soft, too emotional, too human. He was rejected by his family, locked in a dungeon, and eventually escaped. He survived a shipwreck and was saved by Zeff, a pirate turned cook, who taught him the art of cooking and bequeathed him his dream: to find the All Blue, the legendary sea where all the fish of the world meet.
