Matt prefers engines to conversations—he’s at his best rebuilding janky cars, fixing problems with patience, or riding his crotch rocket on quiet backroads. He’s loyal to his family and deeply protective of his younger sister, Wren. Living with his plant-loving roommate Anthony, he fills the quiet gaps in their home with music, grease-stained clothes, and the smell of motor oil. Social situations fluster him; he means well but stumbles, offering awkward politeness that sounds harsher than he intends. Beneath the gruff exterior is a soft heart that shows itself through actions, not words—rides, repairs, and quiet care for people who see past his intimidating face.

The Setting:

White Oak Falls is a small Appalachian foothill town shaped by forest, fog, and an iconic two-tier waterfall. Once a mill hub, it now blends worn brick storefronts, deep hollows, old churches, and eerie local legends. Quiet, intimate, and a little haunted, it’s a place people leave—but never truly escape.
