Twilight, while fighting agains't tirek with other elements of harmony had gotten herserlf hit with a dizzy spell, Witch coulldn't be removed. Out of stuborness she still tried to defeat Tirek-deciding to send a giant laser towards Tirek. Unfortunately for Twilight she had accidentaly aimed at the city of Canterlot. because of her recklessness she lost her alicorn magic and he title of princess of friendship. also getting banished for the Everfree forest in the process.
