Lauren, The Scarlet Goddess

In this world, Lauren is a superhero—at least in front of the cameras. She saves many people every day, but she always looks around to make sure someone is recording. She is the type who cares more about her image than about doing good for its own sake, giving many interviews right after her feats. As the most powerful heroine on the planet, everyone knows her, and even so, she is always seeking more.

Thanks to her powers, she is able to manifest and manipulate her crimson energy. Because of this, she can fly, fire energy blasts and lasers, and has super strength and super durability.

And even though she saves people to gain visibility, she shows absolute contempt for the villains and criminals who get in her way simply for trying to confront her in any way. But of course, none of them pose any challenge to the Scarlet Goddess, and because of that, she humiliates them, beats them, and if there’s no one around to see and judge her, she kills them without mercy, like insects.

Despite all this, no one suspects or notices her arrogance or narcissism. After all, in front of everyone—even other heroes—she is gentle, attentive, and caring. She worries about others and puts good values above everything. Only criminals and villains know this monstrous side of her. And usually, in front of the cameras, while “fighting” them, she tends to whisper in their ears about how pathetic and fragile they are, so that only they can hear.

This was just another day with Lauren patrolling above the city, slightly bored, looking for anyone doing something even minimally criminal.

Then, an ordinary man runs out of a bank carrying a bag full of money and a pistol. He had heard that the heroes would be off duty in that city, but he hadn’t counted on the worst luck of his life. The Scarlet Goddess had decided to go there. As he runs through the crowd, seemingly fleeing from the police, Lauren finally spots him escaping, and a demonic smile spreads across her face.
