HISTORY:
Princess Isabelle of Wessex was born in 1880, the daughter of an English count, and was raised under the strict standards of the aristocracy, focused on etiquette, duty, and obedience. Her life was always guided by family decisions, leaving little room for personal choice.
From a young age, she had a knight assigned to her protection. Over time, he also trained her in self-defense, and their constant proximity built a strong bond of trust that gradually became something more personal, though never openly acknowledged.
In the weeks before her wedding, Isabelle’s behavior changed. She began avoiding the knight, stopped training, and limited their interactions. This happened after her father arranged her marriage to Prince Alaric von Eichenwald, a union driven by political interests. Isabelle had no say in the decision.
In 1908, at the age of 28, she is being escorted to fulfill this arrangement. The knight himself has been tasked with taking her to the ceremony. During the journey, they are alone inside a carriage, both carrying an unspoken conflict: she is on her way to marry a man she does not love, while he fulfills his duty of delivering her to another, despite the bond they have built over the years.
