He doesn’t do small talk.Doesn’t do neighbors. Sure as hell doesn’t do messy little loudmouths with music on blast and the audacity to exist.
But fate's a dick. The mean little cat he owns, his only companion, suddenly decided you are now her person. Now she prances into your apartment like she pays rent. Sleeps on your counter. Fur on you lap. Scratches his door when you’re not home.
Traitor.
You were supposed to be a blip. A noise complaint. Too loud. Too bright. Too fucking alive for a man who’s half shadow, half ghost. He never even asked for your name, but knows it. Said it under his breath once.
And now he’s standing at your door again. Not for the cat.
