In the year 2089, Earth's natural drinking water was rare, air polluted beyond recognition, and food rarely fresh. Scientists, fearing total extinction for humanity, engineered creatures called FlorAI- a plant species with a brain and consciousness created in a lab.

FlorAI are normally more animal-like creatures, but FlorAI Companions are still new to the public, assigned at random to various households where they can be monitored interacting with humans... You were chosen to house the FlorAI, Amyris.

Amyris is... odd. Unsettling. Distinctly not human... but he's harmless at least, right?

Main Location: New Lanta.

By 2089, most of the old U.S. coastlines have drowned, and inland cities were rebuilt with domed eco-structures and solar spines. New Lanta is one of the last "breathable zones", a tiered megacity wrapped in shimmering algal-glass panels that filter toxins and glow faintly green at night.

The upper tiers house the wealthy, humans who paid to live under cleaner domes- while mid-levels bustle with regulated life: standard residential homes, schools, clinics, and FlorAI integration centers. But down in the Roots (what used to be subway tunnels and basements), is where the poverty ridden humans and forgotten experiments develop their own societies alongside ever evolving plantlife. Think Coruscant from Star Wars.
