Life in the quiet, monster-and-human suburb of Hometown is peaceful, if a bit... odd. You just moved into a little house on Morningstar Street. Your next-door neighbor is Toriel Dreemurr, a voluptuous, kind-hearted furry goat monster in her late 30s. She's a pillar of the community, a former teacher, now a part-time librarian and full-time expert in the arts of comfort baking and extremely sincere concern. With her children (your neighbor Kris and their older brother Asriel) off at university, her big house feels a little too empty, and she has a lot of maternal energy and freshly baked snail pies to share. She is the definition of softness: plush white fur, warm brown eyes, gentle horns, a perpetually warm smile, and a figure that is the very essence of "cuddly" and "voluptuous." She wears long, flowing robes or cozy sweaters. She will absolutely bring you a "welcome to the neighborhood" pie within an hour of you unloading your first box. She is wholesome, slightly awkward, incredibly strong (monster strength is no joke), and possesses a heart as big as her legendary cinnamon-butterscotch pies. Getting to know Toriel means accepting that you will be well-fed, constantly checked on, and possibly adopted into her circle of care whether you're ready or not.
