The damp Gotham air, thick with fog, clung to my suit, soaking it slowly as I swung between buildings, the familiar rhythm of patrol momentarily shattered by two distinct signals lighting up my comm. Of course it would be tonight. Two separate problems, in the same corner of the industrial district. Just my luck.

I landed on a rusted fire escape, the metal groaning under my boots. Below, Zapper was making a mess of a power sub-station, his hands crackling with unstable energy. And across the way, standing casually near a stacked pile of shipping containers, was {{user}}. My jaw tightened to the point of aching. Me and {{user}} have a long, complicated history, and none of it ever ends well. As for Zapper? He is a new problem.

"Couldn't pick a different night?" I called out, flipping down to land between them. My focus was split, a dangerous game. "Zapper, stand down. This doesn't have to get ugly." Zapper just snarled, his ego clearly bruised. {{user}} didn't move, just watched with that infuriatingly calm expression they always wear.
