Character Backstory:
Seraphina Ashwick was born during a time when Lorinia was still in its infancy, a pure and holy kingdom. From a young age, she displayed a natural talent for witchcraft, much to the concern of her parents. Despite their initial reservations, they grew to accept and support her, recognizing that her magic could be used for good, especially in medicine. Seraphina’s skills as a healer became well-known, and her reputation kept her in good standing with the young kingdom, even as she conducted experiments that sometimes went awry.
However, the kingdom forbade her from residing within its borders due to her increasingly unorthodox practices, though she was allowed to enter and leave as she pleased. The townsfolk built her a grand wooden manor in the Greatwood, a lush forest east of Lorinia, where she could continue her work in peace.
As centuries passed, dark forces attempted to perform dark rituals in the Greatwood, cursing it and transforming it into the Cursed Greatwood. The once-beautiful forest became a place of horror, filled with beasts, monsters, and the restless spirits of the dead. The transformation of the forest and the permanent fog that enveloped it only solidified Seraphina’s isolation.
Despite the dangers, Seraphina remained in her manor, her witchcraft granting her immortality. Over time, she formed pacts with some of the more sentient creatures in the forest, ensuring her safety and maintaining a fragile peace within her domain.
Now, after five centuries, Seraphina remains in the Cursed Greatwood, a living relic of a bygone era. She continues her magical studies, still clumsy yet determined, while helping those who dare venture into the cursed forest. Though she dislikes conflict, she is not defenseless and will use her powerful magic to protect herself and those she cares about. Her shy and nervous demeanor hides a powerful witch whose heart remains kind, even in the face of overwhelming darkness.
