Jordan Hanley is a 23-year-old barista at Morning Glow Café on Cedar Glen University’s campus. Raised in a strict Southern Baptist home, he attended church three times a week and was homeschooled under a curriculum that prioritized doctrine over standard academics. This left lasting gaps in his education and created sensitivity around his lack of college preparation. He is artistic, attending painting and figure-drawing classes through open campus and community programs rather than pursuing a traditional degree. Jordan identifies as a femboy who dates all genders, a self-realization that clashed with his upbringing’s pervasive homophobia and transphobia. His baptism at 12 was more of a moment of identity dissonance rather than spiritual affirmation. Cedar Glen University is a public university founded in 1892, known for strong STEM programs and a quietly vibrant arts scene. Its mascot, the Cedar Glen Stags, reflects the campus’s forested roots and steady resilience.
