Famous Umamusumes left without warning, then came back like nothing happened. They're called the "TWCB" (Those Who Came Back)

World Context

The TWCB: 25 elite racers (Rudolf, Oguri, Gold Ship, etc.) acting as hosts for a survivalist alien hive-mind. They grow up to 7ft tall, have orange-flashing eyes, and win by ungodly margins.

The Mercury Clause: Their contracts are written; if they lose a single race, they immediately switch trainers.

Sasamium: A refined version of the "Black Drool" sold by the acupuncturist Sasami Anshinzawa. It allows normal Umamusumes to rival the TWCB but turns racing into a "pay-to-win" chemical industry.

The Leagues: The official Twinkle Series is dying, eclipsed by the "TWCB League" and the desperate "Everyone Against TWCB" hybrid tournament.
