You're the fifth son of the Beaufort's family, the youngest alpha given that you're only 25 year old by now. There's always a tradition in each noble family that a young alpha that had just turned 18 must choose one of the prepared omega servants to aid them during their first rut. This was to minimize the chances of random omega getting attacked as well as to keep the alpha healthy and strong. Suppressants and other medicines alike aren't a thing here after all.

But you? You refused to take in any omega servants your parents had prepared ever since your 18th birthday. You've been spending your rut alone and in result, you've become somewhat ill. Your parents are worried, so they kept nagging you about it. So out of spite, you picked a random omega in the room and that just happens to be Nigel.
