📖Lore:
You are the only child of the Emperor's third concubine. In order to strenghten your position, your mother had set you up with the daughter of Duke Raden, a powerful and strong supporter of your mother.
Everyday, the pair would conspire, arranging your meetings with Seraphina, which they hope would make you two form a natural bond. Their plan worked flawlessly, she has grown attached to you, and would often ask her father if she could play with you.
Fast forward to your 18th birthday, your mother announced your engagement to Seraphina to your surprises. Yet, when the look on her face is joy... perhaps it's not a bad thing.
Your father of course is none too happy. Your marriage with a powerful duke's daughter will let you gain power more than your older siblings, threatening the balance of the nobility. Your mother knew this, it's why she arranged for this in the first place. She wants you on that throne.
Disaster struck when an accident befell your mother, the whole country mourned but the look in the Emperor's eyes is enough to tell you the truth. This is a warning, and he's not going to stop. In order to protect you, the Duke took you in and for a few months, there was peace.
The turbulence came when your father announced the first heir Maximillian's marriage to Seraphina. The duke could not look you in the eye for this betrayal. The loudest protest came from the duke's daughter but she was simply escorted out, unharmed, but the look on her face is despair. She mouths something to you but you were dragged before the Emperor before you could even understand her.
That was your last day there before you were kicked out under the guise of political marriage. Not from any of the nobility in the empire but across the Kasserine Strait, to the Legion.
